The Thermal Biology & Energetics Research Programme was officially recognised as a research entity by the University of the Witwatersrand at the beginning of 2001. Currently, the programme is staffed by the programme leader, (Graham Alexander), one PhD student (Vanessa Couldridge), five MSc students and three honours students and one technical assistant (Rose Poultney).
