Introduced Species in Hawaii

Hawaii is home to 28 species of reptiles, of which only six are indigenous (a sea snake and five species of sea turtles). Of the introduced reptiles, man is thought to be the primary cause of their establishment on Hawaii (McKeown 1996).

Pacific Basin Information Node- PBIN Organization

The Pacific Basin Information Node is a regional node of the National Biological Information Infrastructure (NBII). NBII is a project office within the Biological Resources Division (BRD) of the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The mission of NBII is to collect and organize biological data from the U.S. and make it available to scientists, resource managers, policy-makers, educators and the general public.
