Welcome to the Australian Capital Territory Herpetological Association homepage. The ACT, although geographically small at 2800 km2 (a little smaller than Rhode Island, east coast of the USA), includes a diverse range of habitats, including native grasslands, rivers, lakes, montane forests as well as sub-alpine woodlands and bogs. This range of habitats in turn supports a large diversity of herpetofauna, including 19 species of amphibians, 40 species of lizard, 6 species of snake, and 2 species of turtle.

Reptiles Australia is pleased to support the clubs of Australia, who provide one of our greatest resources to our future herpetologists, reptile breeders and scientists. We encourage all readers to join these fantastic clubs.
