Herpetological Societies ,
Hopefully you like the new site design. I'm sure there are quite a few bugs, broken links or things i've otherwise missed, so feel free to drop me a line and let me know if you find any!
Thanks so much and have a great 2006!
In June of 2002, The Kawartha Turtle Trauma Centre opened its doors. Located in Peterborough at the Riverview Park and Zoo, the Centre provides medical, surgical and rehabilitative care to injured native turtles in order to eventually release them back into their natural habitat. The Centre is a registered Canadian Charity.
The Nova Scotia Herpetoculture Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating its members and the public on matters concerning reptiles and amphibians in captivity and in the wild. We do not encourage or discourage people from keeping these animals in captivity, but we do recognize that many people are fascinated by reptiles and amphibians and are interested in keeping and breeding them.
A society for all who are interested in turtles and tortoises. Our goals are: To share knowledge and information as to the proper care and raising of turtles and tortoises and all aspects pertaining to them. To use our combined voice and abilities to benefit the future of turtles and tortoises in the province of Ontario through education and conservation..
The Purpose of the WSPCR:
To encourage and educate the general public in conservation of reptiles and amphibians.
To encourage the captive breeding of reptiles in order to discourage the removal of reptiles from their native habitats.
To encourage and participate in habitat conservation and restoration.
To enable herpetologists to share resources and information through the research and study of reptiles and amphibians.
