Madagascan Ground Boa (Acrantophis madagascariensis)
Here are a few pictures and comments on some of our junior Madagascan Ground Boas (Acrantophis madagascariensis) that we have in our care.
What a fantastic snake to keep, very placid and extremely strong. Care sheet for these snakes is one of many projects that we have in progress. Accurate stats are being kept at present to assist with potential growth rates and feed conversion. In the interim please enjoy these pictures and our attempt at introducing some humor.
We have some more detail info on the species at 'Species page : Madagascan Boas (sp Acrantophis)'
Large versions of each image will open in a new page.
You wish you had a trouser snake like this!
While handling her one day she decided to reverse her tail into my pocket and was not keen to be taken out. Was quite happy to survey her surroundings from her new home. This species seems to be very insecure and likes to hold on for dear life. Anyway, had a picture taken and thought the caption may be good for a laugh.
